Voi relaunches in Frederiksberg, Denmark

May 12, 2022

From May 2022, Voi’s shared e-scooters will be placed in 75 allocated parking spots in Frederiksberg, making it the 6th municipality where Voi is present in Denmark.

Erik Christian Hasselbalch, Country Manager in Denmark, says: “With Voi e-scooters, the citizens of Frederiksberg get access to a green and flexible alternative to daily transport. The e-scooters are a convenient and accessible way to move from a to b – and the people of Frederiksberg thus have more incentives to use e-scooters instead of cars to and from public transport.”

E-scooters were present on the streets of Frederiksberg in 2019 and 2020 and became a very popular mode of transport in the city. At the beginning of 2022 Frederiksberg chose four operators, to whom they awarded a licence to operate in the Danish city. All operators have to live up to high standards of parking and safety, so Frederiksberg citizens can now enjoy e-scooters without having to worry about scooters being parked incorrectly.

Reaction Test to promote sober riding

On Fridays and Saturdays between 22:00 and 00.00 hrs, Voi’s in-app Reaction Test is activated in order to prevent drunk driving. Riders who fail the test are advised to take alternative transport modes. Voi’s e-scooters are unavailable for rides during the late hours on Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday nights.

Parking in Frederiksberg

Parking in Frederiksberg will happen in one of the 75 allocated parking spaces that have been agreed with the city. In the most crowded places in Frederiksberg parking spots are equipped with racks installed by the city, making parking more orderly in those areas. In less congested areas, parking zones will be marked with painting and signage.

Educating riders via online traffic school

Residents in Frederiksberg who have not ridden e-scooters before are advised to use Voi’s digital traffic school RideLikeVoila.com, that more than 600,000 riders in Europe and the UK have used already. Beginners can also opt to ride in Beginner’s mode on the app, which automatically lowers the lower maximum speed to 15km/h.
