Voi vergibt 100.000 Freiminuten für Alltagshelden

Europas führender Anbieter von Mikromobilität kommt in dieser Saison in Geschenklaune und bietet NGOs die Möglichkeit, bis zu 100.000 Freiminuten zu beantragen.

“Wer sich ehrenamtlich engagiert, sich um die Gemeinschaft sorgt und dies im Rahmen einer gemeinnützigen oder nichtstaatlichen Organisation tut, sollte sich keine Sorgen um die Fortbewegung machen müssen”, sagt Christina Meyer, Partnerships Manager DACH bei Voi. “Voi bringt Freiwillige und Mitarbeiter:innen von gemeinnützigen Organisationen schnell und sorgenfrei von A nach B.”

Einzelpersonen wurden bereits ermutigt, sich für kostenlose Fahrten im Rahmen unseres Vois of Germany Programms zu bewerben. Das Programm wurde Anfang 2020 in der Anfangsphase der Corona-Pandemie ins Leben gerufen, um Menschen zu helfen, die dringend eine Alternative zu Auto, Bus und Bahn benötigen – sei es, weil sie ihr Einkommen zu verlieren drohen oder weil sie sich um isolierte Familienmitglieder und Freunde kümmern müssen – jeder Antrag wurde (und wird) von Fall zu Fall mitfühlend behandelt.

Zur gleichen Zeit wurde die Kategorie Voi 4 Heroes auch für Beschäftigte im medizinischen Bereich geöffnet, die kostenlos Zugang zu unserem Monatsabonnement haben. Nach Dutzenden erfolgreicher Bewerbungen sind wir nun stolz darauf, das Angebot um Voi 4 NGOs zu erweitern, mit dem Mitarbeiter und Freiwillige aus dem gemeinnützigen Sektor kostenlose Fahrten beantragen können.

Es ist uns eine Ehre, gemeinnützige Initiativen mit maßgeschneiderten Lösungen zu unterstützen. Im Dezember wurde das Childhood-Haus Hamburg – Kompetenzzentrum für Kinderschutz eingeweiht, das zum Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE) gehört. Die neue Einrichtung bietet Dienstleistungen wie Behandlung und Beratung für Kinder und Jugendliche, die Opfer oder Zeugen von Missbrauch, sexueller Gewalt oder Vernachlässigung geworden sind.

Wir haben dem Ärzteteam ihre eigenen E-Scooter zur Verfügung gestellt, um die knapp zwei Kilometer lange Strecke zwischen dem UKE und dem Childhood-Haus zurückzulegen. Das Team erhält ein unbegrenztes Guthaben und eine eigene Flotte von 4-5 Scootern, die vor dem Universitätsklinikum platziert werden.

Seit kurzem stellen wir unsere Roller außerdem auch der Tierrechtsorganisation PETA zur Verfügung. Die 130 Mitarbeiter:innen von PETA Deutschland können nun kostenlos mit unseren Voi-Rollern fahren – in ganz Deutschland.

A planet made for living – Voi provides free rides to NGOs during Corona wave in Germany

Cities made for living – that is our mission at Voi. This vision is not just limited to transport, it’s really about the bigger picture: a fair society that puts a focus on sustainable living, is free from discrimination and provides equal access to important resources for everyone – that is what we want to be a part of.   

And we’re very much in luck: a committed group of strong minded and forward thinking individuals is  working on these topics day by day through NGOs and other important institutions, with the aim to make the world a better place for everyone to live in. But as offices are being closed down and people have to stay home to care for their families and children Covid19 is now endangering these efforts. 

As a part of our commitment to a modern society and culture we feel a sense of responsibility to keep this very important efforts and workstreams flowing, even in difficult times. Therefore Voi is now supporting NGOs in Germany, where a new Covid wave is currently hitting the country, with their e-scooters.

Individuals have already been encouraged to apply for free rides through our Vois of Germany scheme. Launched at the beginning of 2020 during the early stages of the Corona pandemic, the application scheme was initiated to help those in desperate need of an alternative to cars, buses and trains – maybe they were in danger of losing their income or they needed to care for isolated family members and friends – each application was (and is) treated compassionately on a case by case basis. 

At the same time, the Voi 4 Heroes category opened up applications to employees in the medical field, giving access to our monthly subscription pass for free. Now, after dozens of successful applications, we’re proud to add to the offering, Voi 4 NGOs, allowing employees and volunteers from the non-profit sector to apply for free rides. 

As of recently we have started providing our scooters to animal rights organisation PETA. PETA Germany’s 130 employees can now access free rides with our Voi scooters – all around Germany. 

We love public transport and ask everyone to consider a tram before they take a Voi. Currently, however, the risk of catching Covid can turn the daily commute in a shared vehicle into a risky endeavour. Especially for companies with a higher number of employees. “Anyone who volunteers, cares and is concerned about the community and does so in the context of a non-profit or non-governmental organization should not have to worry about getting around,” says Stephan Boelte, Regional General Manager DACH & East at Voi.  “Voi gets volunteers and employees of non-profit organizations from A to B quickly and worry free.”

Last December the Childhood-Haus Hamburg – Competence Center for Child Protection was inaugurated – part of the University Medical Center Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE). The new facility provides services including treatment and counseling of children and adolescents who have become victims or witnesses of abuse, sexual violence, or neglect. 

We have provided the medical team with their own “in-house” e-scooters to cover the near-two kilometre distance between the UKE medical center and Childhood-Haus. The team will be provided with unlimited credit to ride, as well as a dedicated fleet of 4-5 scooters to be placed in front of the University Hospital.
