Voi Joins the ITF Corporate Partnership Board

May 27, 2021

Voi has joined the Corporate Partnership Board of the International Transport Forum (ITF). The board brings together companies from all transport modes that are interested in working with policymakers to solve transport challenges.

The board helps policymakers better understand the developments happening in the market and lets all parties work together in collaboration on issues of common interest. It also allows the private sector to provide business insights into policy discussions.

For Voi, joining the board was a logical step.

“From day one we have strongly believed in collaboration and cooperation as the only way to foster the required change to ensure our vision of creating cities made for living,” says Fredrik Hjelm, Co-Founder and CEO of Voi.

“We are proud and excited to be joining the ITF Corporate Partnership Board. We see the ITF as a crucial element in facilitating and driving guidance to governments and cities on how to transition to more sustainable societies. We look forward to a close partnership in the years to come.”

Several of the projects that the ITF Corporate Partnership Board are working on are in close alignment with Voi’s vision. For example, decarbonising transport is both a key project within ITF and also central to Voi’s business. Voi is not just carbon neutral today but working to bring about a shift from car-dependent cities; a shift that can occur faster with the help of cities and governments.

“Micromobility can offer city dwellers an easy-to-use and flexible way to get where they need to get without having to use a car. Done the right way, it can help make cities cleaner, safer and less congested – and also help in the fight against climate change,” says Young Tae Kim, Secretary-General of the ITF.

“Voi has sought to work together with city authorities from the outset to find solutions that support cities’ policy goals. The company has also committed to ambitious decarbonisation targets for itself. I am delighted that Voi will now bring their expertise to the table at the ITF’s Corporate Partnership Board and contribute to our work, and in particular to our Decarbonising Transport initiative, with bold, innovative thinking.”

The close engagement between Voi and the ITF is hoped to help facilitate and speed up such change.
