A brilliant opportunity for the way forward

Riding a Voi scooter is the perfect way to get around the city, while sparing it from both noise and pollution. Get rolling in no time by following the simple steps below.

How to get started

1. Download the Voi app and register with your mobile number.

2. Locate an available scooter nearby using the map function in the app.

3. Activate Beginner’s mode if you’re new to e-scooters, to start off slowly while you get used to the accelerator and brakes.

4. Scan the QR code found on the handlebar or the footpad of the scooter to unlock it.

5. Hop on the scooter and push off with your foot a few times to get it rolling before you use the throttle.

6. End your ride in the app to make the scooter available for someone else.

In the UK, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a provisional or full driving licence to ride our scooters.

Safety first

Always wear a helmet to keep your head safe.

Never ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Oh, and no twin-riding. One voiager per scooter!

Ride with care

• Be sure to know the (local) rules of the road before getting on a scooter.

• Stay off pavements as well as roads with speeds over 30 mph.

• Stick to the bike lanes when possible, or close to the side curb.

• Be aware of surrounding traffic, especially at intersections.

• Ride with two hands and leave your headphones for when you get to your destination.

• Put your phone in the holder if you want to use it for navigation.

Park with thought

• Park properly and help keep the pavements an accessible space for all.

• Place the scooter on the street along a pavement, alongside and close to a wall or within a designated Parking Zone.

• Use the kickstand to make sure the scooter is standing upright.

• Be sure not to block any access ramps, bus stops, crosswalks or entrances, or in any other way obstruct public areas.

• Always follow the local parking rules.

Voi Zones

A great thing about riding Vois is that you can ride as good as all over and park almost anywhere in the city. But it’s important to remember that the streets belong to everyone. To make things easier, there are special Zones for riding and spots for parking. We have created these Zones and spots in collaboration with the cities, to be sure we’re adapted to local needs.

Great parking spot

This is a great spot to park your scooter. So good, in fact, that we’ll grant you a discount on your ride as a way to say to thank you for parking here.

Parking spot

In some cities, you’re only allowed to park in designated parking spots. Make sure you find a parking spot before starting your ride.

No Parking Zone

Some places are simply inappropriate for parking. That’s why we have No Parking Zones where you can’t end your ride.

Slow Speed Zone

These are Zones that are usually crowded with either cars or pedestrians. Therefore, your scooter will automatically slow down a bit here.

No Riding Zone

This is a No Riding Zone for a scooter. Here you won’t be able to ride, or park.

Outside Voi Zone

You’re not allowed to take a Voi scooter outside the Voi Zone. The scooter will come to a full stop and you won’t be able to end your ride.
