Moi Lahti! Voi launches in the European Green Capital

We are excited to be introducing hundreds of our e-scooters to the streets of Lahti in Finland today, the fifth Finnish city to enjoy our micromobility services. Voi Technology brings hundreds of Voiager 3X models to the city.

In 2021, the European commission dubbed Lahti as the European Green Capital of the year for it’s many green initiatives to become Finland’s first carbon-neutral city by 2025. These initiatives range from an app for residents to track their individual carbon footprint, to heating systems powered by recycled fuel.

“We have been keeping an eye on Lahti for a long time and discussed cooperation with the city. We are pleased to be able to bring a new carbon-neutral option to the European Green Capital”, says Reetta Alastalo, Country Manager Finland at Voi Technology.

Lahti is a fine example of a 15-minute city philosophy, where everything you need can be found within walking distance, cycling, public transport or via e-scooter. We are confident that our Voiager 3X models will serve to grow this movement in Lahti.

Alastalo adds: “We hope we can reduce the need for private cars in Lahti and thus further improve the comfort of the city as air pollution and noise are reduced.”

Lahti riders will also be encouraged to use our digital traffic school RideLikeVoila.com, the first of its kind by any e-scooter operator, with more than 600,000 riders in Europe having already benefited from it to date. We will also support responsible e-scooter parking in the city, with our Report a Voi webpage. In addition, Voi will be rewarding Lahti riders for using a helmet, with an app facility to do so. In Lahti, we will operate in the city centre and also Ankkuril, Sopenkorpi, Asemantausta, Laune and Paavola.
